Cameron William Remmer Missing Since Oct. 6, 2011-SFO Still Not Assigned Detective

Here is Cameron with his niece and sister-in-law

Cameron William Remmer has been a missing person since Oct. 6, 2011 and now we don’t even have someone actively looking for him until possibly next week. The SFO Police Department does not know even where the Inspector Joe Carroll has gone that was the active investigator on Cameron’s disappearance from the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco around mid-night on Oct. 6th and the last time anyone heard from him. His email/phone/facebook/credit cards and checking account has not been used since that night.

Recently we (his family) ran credit checks to make sure no one has opened new accounts under Cam’s name. We found nothing. We have heard nothing. If you were to speak to any of the family or Cameron’s friends they would tell you he never would go this long without contacting us.

He may be Bi-polar but he was mildly showing symptoms the day he was seen or talked to his friends even just before he left the Fairmont asked to leave by the security. Cameron left all of his personal belongings with the desk clerk when he checked out of the hotel the morning of the 6th.

He was to return (which he did) to the hotel that evening and collect his things but he never picked them up.

As you can possibly tell my son is loving and laughs and is so strongly connected with his family he would not just leave. If this was  a case of a missing woman involved with some shady people they would be looking at this as a possible homicide. I believe it is time for the SFO Missing Persons Department of San Francisco to treat this at a possible homicide. There are some known characters that the police brought to our attention including the name of the man that paid for Cam’s stay at the Fairmont. The police could never connect with this man and had me call him. I think now it is time to do a full investigation but I am his mother and I know how much all of us are hurting and so badly want to find Cameron.

Next week a new detective is to be assigned Cam’s case and we were told by the PD that they are understaffed and don’t have enough people to work on missing person cases.

As a family we have done a full investigation of our own. Maybe it is time those people that were with Cam in SFO or the ones that sent him up there from San Diego/Oceanside are investigated so that we can find Cameron or know what happened to Cam that night on October 6th.

My heart goes out to your family. It’s a shame that the pd can’t do more… Or rather ISN’T doing more to help you find him! Prayers are with you.

Thank you Desiree,
We tried again today, Monday, June 18th and spoke to one person and they did not yet have the person that will be replacing Joe Carroll so basically still no one working on the case to find Cameron. We will call them every day until we hear someone is working again to find our son. best, Valerie

Hello My name is Heidi. I’m a childhood friend of Cameron’s I went to school with him from Aviara through part of High School.

I’m considering starting a letter writing campaign to the Mayor of Sam Francisco pleaing with him to help with attention and investigation into Cameron’s case.

Before I go any further I’d like to know how you feel about this and what you think our main objective should be.

Also any information you can give would help address the situation in the clearest way possible.

I have been speaking to a friend of mine who works in SF with the homeless and mentally ill. She gave me some suggestions and Im going to begin doing whatever I can.

Please feel free to contact me any time.

I am a bit behind on my mail and want to thank you for your words and support. We tried calling SFO today, Monday, 6/18 with no results.
Any help would be most appreciated. We are so upset at this non-responsiveness of SFO PD.
Best, Cam’s mom Val
