Open House at New San Diego Children's Discovery Museum

After ten years in operation the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is having a free Open House this Saturday, December 10th following the 61rst Jaycee’s Annual Christmas Parade  in Escondido. The SDCDM will be participating in the parade with children who will be riding on their float playing world cultural music. As the parade ends a fire truck will lead the way to the Open House at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum in Escondido with free admission from 11am to 4pm.

For Parade details go to .

The 6,000 square foot new San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum facility is across the street from Grape Day Park in Escondido at 320 North Broadway, CA 92025.

The museum outgrew it’s former facility at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido the new facility will allow for more exhibits for interactive children’s play such as Rokenbok, Imagination Playground, Sensation Station, Keva Planks and Origami-try.

Javier Guerrero, executive director of the SDCDM said, “Anticipation for the new museum opening has been huge.”

Thanks to their board and the support of the Escondido community (at a time when local schools are cutting art and music programs) this will allow for lots of fun and exciting exhibits and hands on learning.

Children will be able to explore future exhibits like Ancient Egypt, Life, Earth and Physical Science Stations in early 2012.

The museum is a non-profit organization and relies on all of you to continue to expand their offerings by your financial support and fund raising. To learn more on how you can help go to .
