Family Day at San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park

Poway Chamber of Commerce is holding their annual Street Fair from 10am to 4pm on Midland Road between Poway Road and Hilleary Place this Sunday, April 15th. There will be over 150 vendors and for the first time ever they will have a large number of food trucks to sample their edible offerings along side their regular food vendors. Carlsbad Flower Fields Are Bloomiing

Concerts and Arts at the Flower Fields this Saturday, April 15th in Carlsbad.

My children grew up with the flower fields right behind our house before Aviara hit town. The Carlsbad Flower Fields are located just off I-5 and Palomar Airport Road  at 5704 Paseo del Norte where you can pay to ride the hills on a tractor wagon (fee for adults is $5. and $3 for children 3 to 10 years) or just walk. This Saturday, April 14th will be a Blue Grass Festival.

The Blue Grass Festival is part of admission to the fields which is $11 for Adults or $10 for Seniors and $6. children 3 to 10 and the music will play from 11am to 4pm. The 26th Annual Avocado Festival in Fallbrook Sunday April 15

This Sunday, April 15th Fallbrook is holding it’s 26th Avocado Festival downtown main street from 9am to 5pm. Fallbrook Chamber of commerce who sponsors this event will be providing shuttles from 10am to 5:30pm. For additional information go to http://www.fallbrookchamberofcommerce.org/. Expect a large crowd and lots of sun! Bring those shopping bags to buy your avodado’s and other items from over 400 plus vendors. Come hungry!!

My Grandmother used to work at the old Cannery in downtown San Diego canning tuna. Point Loma is

historically one of the greatest fishing industries in San Diego. So this Sunday April 15th is it’s annual Free

Day at the Docks this Sunday, April 15  at the Sportfishing Landings in Point Loma where you can bring your children/grandchildren to enjoy how to catch fish learn about the different types and examples of salt water tackle. You can also tour some of the fishing boats and hear how they caught the BIG ONE..and other fishy tales…pun intended.

The Kid’s fishing adventure from 9am to 4pm and is for ages 4 to 12 years old and they will have stocked sections so your young one is likely to catch a fish.

There are also lots of other activities like: “Catch, Prep and Cook” center; Casting contest; Izorline know competitions (for the small fry up to age 10; juniors 11-16; Adults with a donation of $1 to $5); Boat rides around the bay for $2. each; Entertainment Stage along with a chance to win prizes and raise money for the Burn Foundation. Mingei Museum Balboa Park April 15 Family Sunday
